Travel EASY Decks: Extending the comforts of home to wherever you go!

When we were younger we enjoyed some true “roughing-it” adventures. We slept in tents without cots or padded floors, very carefully bathed in bottled water, and made the best food over an open campfire with a sharpened stick as a fork, spoon, and tongs!

After several trips, our roughing-it arsenal of supplies increased. We eventually had a “pantry tent” with large Rubbermaid boxes we used as our “cupboards”, several water jugs filled specifically for washing dishes, brushing teeth, and a more thorough bathing experience – it was getting harder and harder to fit in those water bottles! We created an actual sink out of some pantry “drawers”, we found a campstove that still made great meals but let us keep our eyebrows intact, and we purchased camping pads to lighten the pressure of those persistent rocks and wayward sticks that inevitably relocated themselves directly under the tent after set-up.

As we matured our camping style changed and so did our roughing-it arsenal. The “pantry” eventually morphed into a motor home then a travel trailer which changed the “cupboards” from toolboxes to real particle boards hanging from the ceiling with drawers under a separate plastic sink. We stopped lugging in 20 gallons of water by hand and we had real a shower! But, seriously, the change from sleeping bags over rocks to a plush queen sized bed with sheets was a day for celebration.

We continue to enjoy camping, even more so it seems with the luxuries of a trailer, but quickly discovered that, with the inside comforts handled, we needed to do something about the outside comforts. We were tired of dealing with mud, gravel, holes, and bugs right outside our camper but we really didn’t care to go camping on concrete so we developed our portable, expandable, and adjustable, deck specifically for recreational use for anywhere you want to go!

Now our campsites are complete. We have a healthy balance of nature, home, and outdoor comfort with little effort. Our deck only adds 10-15 minutes to our set-up/take-down time (depending on how large we want to make our comfortable outdoor area) and required little re-organizing of the trailers compartments to make room for them. And even if we don’t take the travel trailer they fit nicely in the bed of the truck so we can take them anywhere we want to create some outdoor comfort away from mud, gravel, holes, and bugs.
